How do you connect with other programmers (other than co-workers)?

Apparently, linkedin posts and my blog. I actually had more luck teaching people technical things on LinkedIn than anything else, surprisingly. I often have coworkers talk about my blog posts with me... and it's a little weird because those same people won't like or comment on the posts so it's really hard for me to understand what the reach of my posts actually is.
But yeah, through my blog, https://kmcd.dev, pull requests, tech-specific slack/discord chats, tech aggregators like https://devurls.com, etc.
I haven't had TOO much luck connecting with people in person without already knowing them. I don't think I have a good "cold open" personality.
