What are some ways that a creative mindset has helped you with your work?

I like to think debugging and understanding how systems actually work together is a creative skill. It requires thinking a lot about what how developers might have designed things because it's really inefficient to read every line of code to understand it.
And similar to being in the "creative zone" you can sometimes be "too close" to a problem, so taking some time to unset your neural pathways by taking a walk, sleeping for a night, playing a video game, etc can do wonders for getting your mind into a state where you can ask better and more creative questions.
